Welcome to 2SG! We are Aussie mates Al and Pete, and our journey began in early 2020, driven by our passion for cooking outdoors and the desire to spend quality time with family and friends.

At 2SG, we believe that nothing brings everyone together quite like Smokin', Grillin’ ’n' Chillin'.

Our mission is to share expert tips, tricks, and knowledge so you can create mouth-watering dishes that will make you the 'Go To' BBQ desitination or all your family and mates get togethers, and the envy of your neighbours when the glorious smells of what your cooking float across the fence.

Pete Armstrong

After 35 years in the corporate global consumer goods arena, I realized it was time for a shift in priorities.

Reaching a stage in life where reflection is key, I chose a new journey that aligns with my passions while allowing me to cherish more moments with family and friends.

With a great love for the outdoors and a fondness for good food and drinks, it was a natural fit to dive into smoking and grilling.

Together with my good mate Al, we founded 2SG to share the joy, passion, and unforgettable memories that come from cooking and enjoying great times with loved ones.

Now, as a proud husband, father of five, and grandfather of eight, I’m excited to spread this enjoyment with others!

Al Yates

I was born and raised in Grantham, a small town in Lincolnshire, England, where I grew up above my parents' pub.

Since the age of 13, I've been pulling beers and helping out in the kitchen, discovering the joy of how great food brings people together.

At 17, I moved to Australia, where I fell in love with the Aussie BBQ culture and the incredible flavors that come from smoking and grilling.

Now, having had my own business in commercial painting and as a Dad of 2, I have a strong desire to spend more time outdoors with family and friends.

So, I'm thrilled to finally turn my passion for cooking into something more than just an idea, teaming up with my good mate PA to build a community of fellow food enthusiasts!
